China Matters held its Fourth Young Professionals National Meeting in partnership with Perth USAsia Centre on 7 September 2018 at St George’s College. Each session ended with one or two policy recommendations for the Australian government and business community.

The two panel sessions focused on:

  • How should Australia respond to the PRC’s growing presence in the South Pacific?
  • Should Australia welcome PRC investment in new growth sectors, such as agriculture?

Session I was moderated by Mr Martin Symonds, Assistant Director – Regional Strategy, Department of Defence. Session II was moderated by Ms Amy Hallam, Committee Director, Australian Institute of International Affairs WA.
