Third Young Professionals Debate

On 22 November 2017 China Matters held its Third Young Professionals Debate featuring one young professional and one special guest on each debate team.

The two teams debated the question:

‘Are Australian Universities ready for the rise of China?’

Team 1 on the affirmative: Winnie Eley and Rebecca Yang

Team 2 on the negative: Hans Hendrischke and Jessica Wirawan

Moderated by: Primrose Riordan

The evening saw a lively discussion between panellists and the audience, debating how Australian universities should approach a relationship with China.

Hans Hendrischke and Jessica Wirawan on the negative team were voted by the audience as the winning team for putting forward the most convincing argument.
