On 31 August 2017 China Matters held its Second Young Professionals Debate featuring two YP alumni and two special guests on each debate team.
The two teams debated the question:
‘Should we be nice to China?’
Team 1 on the affirmative: Scott Dewar and Andrew Kiley
Team 2 on the negative: Helen Sawczak and Harry White
Moderated by: Helen Dai
The evening saw a lively discussion between panellists and the audience debating how Australia should approach a relationship with China.
Scott Dewar and Andrew Kiley on the affirmative were voted by the audience as the winning team for putting forward the most convincing argument.
