Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

  • Value: Covers 100% or 50% of tuition fees depending on scholarship outcome
  • Eligibility: New international students enrolling in a Deakin coursework degree with a minimum of 85% average in previous studies
  • Additional Benefits:
    • Participation in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP)
    • Priority access to on-campus accommodation subject to availability and at own cost
  • Application Requirements:
    • Completed International Scholarship Program application form
    • 300-word personal statement
    • Two references highlighting community involvement and/or leadership skills
    • Course application including academic transcripts
  • Note: This scholarship is not available to international students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program

Deakin International Scholarship

  • Value: 25% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the course
  • Eligibility: New international students enrolling in a Deakin coursework degree with a minimum of 65% average in previous studies
  • Application Requirements:
    • Completed International Scholarship Program application form
    • 300-word personal statement
    • Course application including academic transcripts
  • Note: Unsuccessful applicants for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship will automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship

Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarships (RTP & DUPR)

  • Value:
    • RTP Stipend: AUD 35,550 per annum tax-exempt
    • Relocation Allowance: AUD 500 to AUD 1,500 for students moving from interstate or overseas
    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Single policy for the duration of the student visa
  • Eligibility: Domestic and international students enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) course at Deakin University
  • Duration:
    • Doctoral Degree: 3 years for stipend 4 years for tuition fee offset
    • Research Master’s Degree: 2 years for stipend 2 years for tuition fee offset
  • Fields of Study: Available across various disciplines including Arts and Education Business and Law Health Science Engineering and Built Environment Frontier Materials and Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation

Application Deadlines

  • Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship: Applications are assessed on a rolling basis in the lead-up to each trimester. It is recommended to submit applications at least one month before the course commencement
  • Deakin International Scholarship: Applications are open throughout the year. It is advisable to apply at least one month before the start of your course
  • Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarships: Applications are open for research candidatures commencing between 1 May to 27 October 2025
