Originally established in 2014 as an independent Australian policy institute, China Matters focused on strengthening Australia’s understanding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) through research, policy briefs, and dialogue. For a decade, it brought together leaders from government, academia, and business to shape effective responses to Australia–China relations. The organisation officially closed in 2024, but its impact continues through ongoing initiatives and fellowships.
